A Debate Between Norman Finkelstein and Wolf Blitzer

The Question that was asked but evaded by both Finkelstein and Wolf Blitzer was, 'why Palestine?'. Both evaded the question for good reason. Both Finkelstein and Dershowitz are Zionist, albeit the former is known to be a kinder and gentler kind of Zionist.

Here is that question:

  • You imply that Israel has the right to exist because of what happened to the Jews during WWII.
  • Why in Palestine?
  • Don't the Palestinians too have the right to a secure homeland?
  • Why do they (Palestinians) have to suffer and make way for the Jews?

    • Both men skirted around the question. Blitzer appeared to be arrogant and his reply seemed to say, 'so what?'. Finkelstein completely rephrased the question, which also surprised me, because by the time he was through rephrasing the question, it did not resemble the original question.

    I have yet to figure out why it is that it is mostly Jews who debate one another on a matter that affects the Arabs. I have yet to figure out why the Jews in America being only 2% of the population are represented in disproportionate numbers as debaters on the Palestine issue. Where are the Arabs? Where are the great gentile intellectuals in these debates?

    Both Finkelstein and Wolf Blitzer conveniently skipped over the question:

    WHY PALESTINE?

    Why Palestine, indeed? Why couldn't the European Jews form a state in their very own Europe? Why didn't Germany pay for its crimes by partitioning its own land? Finkelstein assures us that the Zionist state is legitimate. 'Legitimate' is on the eyes of the beholder. The Zionist state is never legitimate in the eyes of the victims, the Arabs. Palestine was stolen by bribery, intimidation and by brute force! Finkelstein bases his argument that the stolen state is legitimate because the international community says so. Who is anyone to dictate what happens to Arab land, except the Arabs?

    Blitzer does not get into why the Palestinians were made to pay the price for Germany's crime either. To him, might makes right! The rabid Zionist Jew Wolf Blitzer is arrogant and defiantly states that European Jews deserved a homeland, period! On whose land should Europe's Jewry make a homeland? What has Palestine got to do with European Jews? Neither of these two debaters would answer the question, why Palestine?
